Since the UK’s Water Supply Regulations were introduced in 1999, many Muslims in the UK have struggled to maintain their preferred hygiene practices in homes, workplaces, and public facilities. UK water regulations, WRAS guidance, and landlord restrictions often prevent the installation of traditional mains‑connected bidet showers due to Category 5 backflow contamination risks — regulations we fully respect and support, as they exist to protect the safety and integrity of the UK’s water supply.

Canadian Info Tech Ltd recognised this long‑standing community need and stepped forward with a practical, engineered solution. Our R&D team took on the responsibility of developing a safe, compliant, off‑mains bidet system that aligns with UK water regulations while remaining easy to install, affordable, and fast to deploy.

The result is OAKUA® Smart Bidet Shattaf — a cistern‑mounted, self‑install hygiene kit that requires no plumbing, no mains connection, and no special tools.
